Welcome to Windy Ridge.
Windy Ridge Preschool is conveniently located in the town of Mt. Temper, New York. It serves the surrounding communities including Phoenicia, Boiceville, Woodstock, West Hurley, Olive Bridge, Margaretville, Big Indian, and more. The beautiful mountainous views and serene setting welcome you to our inviting preschool. With over ten years experience in preschool and also over ten years experience in day care, the OCSF certified staff is well prepared to offer children between the ages of 3-5 years a unique, individualized, and special experience. Windy Ridge also offers a Spanish speaking staff. Windy Ridge is best known for it's unique combination of a nurturing environment with a strong concentration in academics. Lots of hugs and individual attention combined with a strong curriculum lead the children to a seamless transition into Kindergarten.

Typical Day
A typical day at Windy Ridge Preschool includes all subjects from literature, to the arts, mathematics, to science, and so on. Together, we sing, read, create arts and crafts, work on math comprehension, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and even get to work on some fun science experiments. All of this is being done while your tots gain interpersonal and personal life experiences that help them to grow into bright young children ready to take on the world.
Curriculum
Our curriculum's ideals and approach are committed to creating the best possible learning environment and early life experiences we can offer your children. We have carefully chosen the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum. This program offers materials that are developmentally based and effective for your children. Our goal is to make learning joyful and easy. The Handwrit\ting Without Tears program reinforces good work habits and integrates handwriting fluency skills needed to succeed in all subjects. This is the program of choice in the Onteora School District's elementary schools. We offer it on a Pre-K level, which allows a seamless transition into your kid's upcoming school years.
